Giulio Lacchini è nato nel 1971, vive e lavora a Cremona.
Il suo lavoro indaga attraverso la tecnica della fotografia, del video, del suono e della performance i movimenti dell’essere, della biografia che significa ripercorrere, nel farne immagine, i gesti del vivere, per ripensarli, ripassarli un'altra volta sulle tracce del proprio percorso e rilavorare la polvere depositata sulle orme del proprio passaggio.
Da tempo Giulio Lacchini raccoglie in piccoli libri serie di lavori dallo statuto incerto, ibrido, che trovano proprio nel libro il loro luogo d'elezione. Sorta di diari, tengono insieme fotografie, disegni, collage, interventi sopra fotografie, scrittura, citazioni, calligrafie. Per Lacchini sono più che dei quaderni di materiali, sono degli "autoritratti", delle "biografie", dove egli vela e svela il proprio essere e che per lui sono parte integrante della sua stessa vita.
Nelle sue opere c’è il significato della collaborazione, che confluisce anche nell’attività editoriale, con una vera e propria operazione artistica: così nel 1999 crea una rivista intitolata Cross, che intreccia artisti e autori provenienti dalle discipline più disparate e nel 2006 si fa promotore di un volume sul collezionismo – Il collezionismo o il mondo come voluttà e simulazione (Studio permanente/a+mbookstore edizioni) – coinvolgendo di nuovo autori e artisti, tra i diversi volumi collettanei di diverso tipo nati negli anni per sua iniziativa.

Giulio Lacchini was born in 1971, and he lives and works in Cremona.
His work explores, through the techniques of photography, video, sound, and performance, the movements of being, the biography that means retracing, in image, the gestures of living, in order to rethink them, to pass over them once again along the traces of his own path, and to rework the dust deposited on the footprints of his passage.
For some time, Giulio Lacchini has been collecting series of works in small books with an uncertain, hybrid status, which find their natural place in the book itself. These are like diaries, holding together photographs, drawings, collages, interventions on photographs, writing, quotations, and calligraphy. For Lacchini, they are more than just notebooks of materials; they are "self-portraits," "biographies," where he veils and unveils his own being, and which he considers an integral part of his life.
In his works, there is a meaning of collaboration, which also flows into his editorial activity, with a true artistic operation: in 1999, he created a magazine called Cross, which interweaves artists and authors from the most diverse disciplines; and in 2006, he was the promoter of a volume on collecting—Il collezionismo o il mondo come voluttà e simulazione (Studio permanente/a+mbookstore editions)—bringing together again authors and artists, among the various collective volumes of different types created over the years on his initiative.
